Why Should I pay to Board my Dog when my Buddy can Take Care of Him?

We hear it all the time here at Ruby’s K9 Corral. “My friend/dog sitter/relative flaked out. Now I have no one to watch him!” Honestly we have heard them all. I totally understand how wanting to use a friend is so appealing, but will they actually come through?

Other issues we have seen come up with in home care is dogs escaping out the front door. My husband actually had a co-worker go on a trip. He had told his friend prior to leaving that we were now open at Ruby’s K9 Corral. His friend still used a house sitter and sadly his dogs ran out the front door and were never seen again.

We also get told that caretakers won’t show up. Your dog is then left in need of food and/or water, probably going potty in the house and causing possible destruction. You also need to trust the person coming to your house to do right by not doing things like stealing from you.

I don’t knock house sitting by any means. Just make sure it’s a good fit for you and your dog(s). Believe it or not, some dogs really love going to their boarding places. Our clients get very excited when they know they are coming to see us! It also gives your dog a little vacation of their own. It’s especially a great option for younger, social, and/or higher energy dogs as they get to blow of some steam.

We all realize as well that our friends or family who may offer to watch our dogs, have the best of intentions. Often though life just gets in the way. That is where we here at Ruby’s K9 Corral come into play.

You do have your options when it comes to your dog’s care and whether or not you should use a dog boarding and kenneling facility. The good thing about us is that you will never have to worry about us canceling on you. You will never have to worry about us not showing up to take care of your dog. You will never have to worry about your dog escaping out the front door. We love your dog like we love our own here at Ruby’s K9 Corral. Plus your dog is out enjoying the trees, property, and fresh country air!

Vicky Simpson

My husband and I moved here from the Texas Hill Country back in 2015 and have been here on our property ever since! I was nursing up until that point and finally was able to achieve my dream of opening a luxury dog care facility back in 2017. I still love it after all these years as it has brought some truly awesome dogs and wonderful people across our paths. I am truly blessed to have earned the trust of our wonderful community with the care of their beloved dogs!
